Start in Grace: continue in Grace

Today’s Epistle: Galatians 2:18 (KJV) “For if I build again the things which I destroyed, I make myself a transgressor.”

There is a gospel of the “Circumcision” and “Uncircumcision” and the apprehension of these two gospels and to whom it is dispensed (addressed) is primordial to be understood by every Son in Christ to ensure they start in Grace and continue therein. (Colossians 2:2-7 “As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him: Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.”) In the Gospel of John 1:17, the Apostle John maintains that the law (works) came through Moses but Grace and truth came through Jesus. This expression by Saint John denotes a delimitation of two remarkable dispensations in the gospel or bible history. It is very important for every Christian to have a full comprehension of these two dispensations to avoid a mix up of the message of grace that has been handed to the body of Christ. Too many Christians have not understood that there are two sides of the gospel in the bible and because of this ignorance, many at the beginning start building their Christian lives on grace but go back to the law (Moses and the earthly ministry of Jesus Christ); thereby destroying the Grace they started building their lives on, making themselves transgressors in the eyes of God. To start in grace and continue in the law makes you a transgressor in the sight of God because His grace becomes of none effect to you. The Apostle Paul in this Epistle to the Galatians saw many Christians who started in grace but continued their Christian lives on the teachings of Moses and the earthly ministry of Jesus Christ and marveled that they were soon removed from Him that called them into Christ (Grace) unto another Gospel (law), which was not all together another gospel. Galatians 3:3 “Are you so foolish? Having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh”. How you start your Christian life as a Son is not important but how well you finish the race (Ecclesiastics 7:8). You can start well but not end well. Many are in this confusion in the present day church; preaching the gospel of circumcision (law or Ten Commandments) to the uncircumcision (body of Christ). This is an error and will only frustrate the Grace of God on you. Make sure you hold fast to teachings of the Apostle Paul on the Grace of Christ to ensure you continue in the Faith. Don’t be a transgressor before God by holding to the teachings of the Law. Abba Father!

Confession of Faith/ Prayer for the Day

Heavenly Father, thank you for the free gift of grace I have received by faith without the works of the law. I am building my faith on the teachings of grace that builds faith in me and not death, sin and condemnation. I am victorious by the enablement of the free gift of grace that comes by the hearing of the word of Christ in Jesus name, Amen!

Thought for the Day

You are a transgressor if you start in grace but continue in the law that teaches you to trust in your own works for salvation.

  1. Powerful....
We can't put old wine into new wine skin...
We can't patch an old jacket with a new patch cloth....
Likewise it must be either all grace till the end, or all law to the end. God doesn't do mixtures. Abba Father!
